Outbreaks and Emergencies Bulletin, Week 12: 18 - 24 March 2017
This week (Week 12), WHO AFRO is currently monitoring 34 events, two Grade 3, six Grade 2, two Grade 1, and 24 ungraded events. The update also focuses on key ongoing events in the region:
- Meningitis outbreak in Cameroon,
- Cholera outbreak in Malawi,
- Humanitarian crises in Nigeria and South Sudan
- Lassa fever in five West African countries (Nigeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, and Sierra Leone),
- Cholera outbreaks in Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo,
- Meningitis outbreak in Togo, and
- El Nino phenomenon in Ethiopia.
