Dr Matshidiso Moeti visited Ethiopia on 22-26 February 2016 to lead the historic first-ever Ministerial Conference on Immunization in Africa organized by the African and Eastern Mediterranean regions of the World Health Organization together with the African Union Commission.

Dr Moeti also spoke at the Meningitis Vaccine Project closure conference held ahead of the First Ministerial Conference on Immunization. 

While in Addis, Dr Moeti made a courtesy call on the Minister of Health of Ethiopia Honorable Dr Kesetebirhan Admasu to discuss collaborations between the two entities towards ensuring the best health for the Ethiopian people. 

Dr Moeti also met with the staff of WHO Ethiopia where issues of concern to staff were raised and discussed. The staff of the Country Office expressed their appreciation to the Regional Director for taking the time to meet with staff during such a packed few days’ of visit to the country.
