Outbreaks and Emergencies Bulletin, Week 17: 22 - 28 April 2017
The African Region WHO Health Emergencies Programme is currently monitoring 44 events, 36 infectious diseases outbreaks and 8 humanitarian crises. This edition (week 17) covers:
- Cluster of acute illness and sudden deaths of an unknown aetiology in Liberia
- Anthrax in Zimbabwe,
- Humanitarian crises in Nigeria and South Sudan,
- Meningitis in Nigeria
- Necrotising cellulitis/fasciitis in Sao Tome and Principe,
- Hepatitis E outbreak in Niger,
- Food insecurity crisis in the Horn of Africa.
