Update COVID-19 04 February 2021

04 February 2021 — One hundred, and fifty-four (154) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4135 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases fifteen thousand, nine hundred, and eighty-eight (15988). To date, eleven thousand, three hundred, and ninety-two (11392) patients have recovered, including three hundred, and eighty-nine (389) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is four thousand, four hundred, and twenty-six (4426) and two hundred, and ten (210) deaths. The 2 new deaths are one female of 69 years in Kigali, and one male of 56 years old in Muhanga District.


The new cases are in Kigali (28), Nyamagabe (19), Kayonza (17), Gicumbi (12), Kamonyi (12), Karongi (9), Gisagara (9), Muhanga (8), Nyagatare (7), Kirehe (7),  Rubavu (6), Huye (5),  Rulindo (2), Ruhango (2),  Musanze (2), Rusizi (2), Ngoma (1),  Gakenke (1), Nyaruguru (1), Rutsiro (1), Nyabihu (1), Bugesera (1), and Gatsibo (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
