Regional Committee Sessions

The Seventy-first session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa is expected to be held in a virtual format from 24 to 26 August 2021. The virtual session will be held under Special procedures for the conduct of the virtual session of the Regional Committee for Africa. The provisional agenda of the meeting was shared with all participants with the invitation letters. More details to follow.
The virtual session of the 70th Regional Committee for Africa will be held on 25 August 2020, starting at 09:30 hours GMT + 1. The virtual session will be held under the Special procedures to regulate the conduct of the virtual session of the Regional Committee for Africa. Two key events will be held during the virtual session, firstly on the COVID-19 response in the region, and secondly on Celebrating certification of wild poliovirus eradication in the WHO African Region.
The Sixty-ninth session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa was held in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, from 19 to 23 August 2019. The Regional Committee, comprising health ministers from the 47 countries in the Region, is the Governing Body of WHO in the African Region.
