Uganda launches Human Papillomavirus Vaccine

Kasese, 26th November 2015: Uganda launched the Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (HPV Vaccine) at Bwera Secondary School grounds, Kasese district. The Vaccine is meant to protect girls and women against cancer of the cervix.

Kampala 16th December 2015:  The Reproductive Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) assembly took place at Serena Hotel in Kampala under the theme “Better accountability and coordination for Reproductive Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health.

The meeting was organized for stakeholders to share experiences and lessons learned around the development, use and sustainability of an engagement platform for the RMNCAH stakeholders for better health outcomes of mothers, children and adolescents and improved accountability mechanisms.

Kampala, 19 January 2016 -- The World Health Organization Regional Director for Africa Dr. Matshidisho Moeti paid a courtesy call on the Rt Honorable Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda at his office in Kampala. 
 
Dr. Moeti had come to Uganda to attend and preside over the Joint Action Forum (JAF) for the African Program on Onchocerciasis Control in Africa (APOC).

Uganda Commemorates World TB Day 2016

Kyenjojo, 30th March 2016 - Uganda commemorated the World Tuberculosis Day 2016 at Kyenjojo Secondary School grounds in Kyenjojo District under the theme “Unite to End TB” with the Slogan “Find, Treat and cure all TB patients”. The overarching message to all Ugandans was to ensure that TB patients seek and complete treatment given to them by health workers.
