29 December 2020 — A hundred and seven (107) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 2913 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases eight thousand, a hundred, and twenty-one (8128). To date, six thousand, three hundred, and thirty-nine (6339) patients have recovered, with no one in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, seven hundred, and ten (1710) and seventy-nine (79) deaths. The 4 new deaths are 2 male of 78 and 68, and a female of 84 years old in Kigali, and a female of 48 years in Gicumbi District.

The new cases are in Kigali (40), Kayonza (17), Gakenke (12), Musanze (12), Huye (8), Rubavu (8), Gicumbi (5), Burera (2), Rusizi (2), Kamonyi (1), and Nyagatare (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere. 

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
