Kampala, 30th April 2019: - The Meeting on Strengthening Partnership for Improving Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak preparedness and readiness, opened in Kampala yesterday with a call to delegates to undertake frank discussions to unearth critical risk factors and challenges in the response and suggest feasible solutions to register concrete results.  

Kampala 26 April 2019: - The Ministry of Health (MoH) has, today, launched the National Tobacco Control Committee (NTCC) at a breakfast meeting held in Kampala.

Kampala, 26th April 2019: - The World Health Organization (WHO) Representative Dr Yonas Tegegn Wodermariam and staff recently briefed ambassadors and heads of bilateral and multilateral organizations in Uganda on the current Ebola situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the preparedness activities implemented in the country since August 2018.

Kampala 25 April 2019: - The Ministries of Health, Education, Gender and Local government have committed to improving the coverage of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in Uganda. This was at the National Symposium for Multi-Sectoral Stakeholders' renewed commitment towards increasing HPV Vaccination coverage, that was held at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala.

Kampala, 24th April 2019:- Uganda’s Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness and response have capacity gaps that need urgent attention to be able to effectively respond to a potential outbreak of the disease. The gaps were identified during a Simulation Exercise (SimEx) that was conducted recently in Wakiso (Entebbe) and Kasese (Mpondwe and Kagando) districts.

 Kampala 10th April 2019: - Uganda commemorated the World Health Day (WHD) under the national theme Multisectoral Action to Universal Health Coverage, with a strong appeal to all sectors to contribute to its attainment.

On a humid morning with soaring temperature, Rogers Kusemererwa, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo who has been in Kyaaka II Refugee Settlement since 2008 goes about his work with utmost alertness and strictness, typical of a security guard who loves his job. At one point he pauses to offer an opinion about the services at Bujubuli Health Centre.

Life as a refugee is never easy. This is especially true if one lives in settlements where access to social services such as health, education or economic opportunities to earn a living may not be readily available.
